Gum Surgery

Gum graft surgery is a dental procedure for treating thinning gums or gum recession. Gum grafting covers exposed teeth roots and adds volume to your gum line, improving overall oral health.

Due to inflammation of the gums the bones that support and surround the teeth may also get affected. It can then gradually grow from being simple gingivitis to advanced periodontitis. Bacteria present in the mouth gradually multiply and slowly form a biofilm on the gums known as the dental plaque. If this condition is left untreated then the adjoining tissues near the teeth can get infected and may result in the formation of gum disease. The symptoms thus may include:

1. red gums,
2. swollen gums
3. bleeding gums
4. bad breath and bad taste in the mouth
5. pus around the teeth

When condition worsens the dentist may suggest the patient to undergo a procedure known as the Gum Surgery.
